More parking needed at Aberdeen train station

Hi. I'm starting this blog as an online petition to collect signatures to persuade the city of Aberdeen, the county of Harford, the state of Maryland and the managers of Amtrak and MARC that there is a desperate need for more parking spaces at the Aberdeen, MD, train station. If you agree, please use the comments function to post your ideas and experiences, your name, hometown, and as much other identifying information as you feel comfortable sharing. If you don't want to have your name or email address published, but feel that more parking is needed, email your information to aberdeenparking@gmail.com. I'll keep the information solely for uses of showing the strength of demand for improvements to the powers that be. At the very least, express your opinion on the poll below!
Thanks!
Kim

this is a great idea to make possible change to our parking situation at Aberdeen Station.

one of the main problems i see is inconsistent parking enforcement. i have seen cars not blocking ingress or egress from the parking lot receive parking tickets while cars blocking traffic in and out of the parking lots do not receive tickets.

there are not enough spaces for the heavy days in that parking lot usually Monday through Thursday with Friday being the slack day of the week but blocking ingress or egress should be a simple judgement. if people park stupid (not reasonably) and block traffic through the parking lots, they should receive parking tickets.

another problem is that the owner(s) of the strip mall to the south of the main Aberdeen parking lots will not post [no parking] signs although they have painted the wall made of wood across from the stores on the back of the car dealership red. youd think that drivers parking would understand parking next to a curb coloured red but this is Maryland. these vehicles should receive tickets because its within the property owners lawful realm to do so.

parking on the backside of the building is another story. there is a gate next to a power transformer on the backside of the building toward the train station. without [no parking] or [do not block gate] signs posted on or around the fence and gate on the backside of their building, they are putting [first and last warning] placards on some cars warning them that their vehicles will be towed by Cullums Towing to 301 Bush Chapel Road in Aberdeen. i can send along the placard i received by email.

the Maids and the other business facing MD 40 tow to a yard in Riverside with a $300+ cost to get vehicles back. people parking in their spaces are not always towed though.

one thing for sure is that there are unreasonable drivers parking their vehicles in unreasonable, mostly virtual spaces with unreasonable parking enforcement by the Aberdeen Police Department and adjacent property owners.

Considering that ridership will only continue to increase, the only viable long-term solution is to create more parking near the train station. This is something that the MTA, Amtrak, and City of Aberdeen should be working on together.

In the short-term, clear signs regarding parking enforcement would help (e.g., if you are not parked in a marked space, you will be ticketed and/or towed). The lack of clear signs leads to a parking free-for-all with some people getting tickets and some not.

With the recent election of Mayor Bennett, now would be a good time to bring these issues forward to City officials.

I saw comments from people who already got their loan from Mr Benjamin Lee and I decided to apply under their recommendations and just 5 days later I confirmed my loan in my bank account a total amount of $850,000 .00 which I requested for. This is really a great news and I am advising everyone who needs real loan lender to apply through their email : 247officedept@gmail.com or WhatsApp : +1-989-394-3740.   I am happy now that I have gotten the loan I requested .
